Leserbilder Astronomie: Comet Catalina & Whirlpool Galaxy

Comet C/2013 US10 (Catalina) imaged on January 13th, 2016 in a wide field. Its long ion tail is projected toward west to a distance of more than six degrees, but it appears more faint and with less details that in my previous image taken only two days ago. However the dust tail is more short and brilliant toward south and has barely changed. Aside from several small galaxies scattered in the field, in the upper right appears the classical spiral galaxy M 51: the Whirlpool Galaxy.
