Inosin, Ino, Hypoxanthosin, Hypoxanthinribosid, 9β-D-Ribofuranosylhypoxanthin, ein β-glycosidisches Nucleosid aus D-Ribose und Hypoxanthin (Abb.); Mr 268,23Da, F. 218°C (Z.), [α]D25 -73,6° (c = 2,5, 0,01N NaOH). I. kommt in freier Form unter anderem im Fleisch und in Hefen vor. Es entsteht durch Dephosphorylierung von Inosinphosphaten. I. ist Bestandteil des Anticodons bestimmter transfer-RNAs (seltene Nucleinsäurebausteine) und erfüllt dort spezifische Funktionen.
