Thyreotropin, Thyrotropin, thyreotropes Hormon, thyreoidstimulierendes Hormon, Abk. TSH, ein Proteohormon, das vom Hypophysenvorderlappen unter der Wirkung des Thyroliberins (Thyreotropin-Releasing-Hormon) gebildet wird. Die Freisetzung von T. wird durch Neuromedin B, Estrogen, Testosteron, β-Endorphin und Somatostatin gehemmt, hingegen durch Prostaglandine, Vasopressin und Calcitriol stimuliert. T. seinerseits stimuliert die Bildung und Ausschüttung der Schilddrüsenhormone Thyroxin und Triiodthyronin. (Hypophyse, Schilddrüse)
